We Graduated!

So there was no cap and gown but Bryan and I graduated our PRIDE class training!  We have officially been trained to be foster parents.  Although 3 hour long classes twice a week is not my idea of a good time, but we did learn alot of important things!  The classes where very eye opening to what children in Foster care have to go through.  It brakes my heart to hear some of their stories.  Makes me want to take them all in!  On the last night of classes they had a panel of people who have been effected by foster care.  There was a foster parent who has adopted through foster care, a birth parent who just recently regained custody  of her child, and then a 15 year old boy who has been in foster care for six years.  Each of there stories gave me the conformation that this is indeed what Bryan and I are meant to do at this time!  We are very excited to start this new adventure. We also had our home study done.  This is when a social worker from health and welfare comes to our home and makes sure we meet all the regulations.  That our home is a safe place and see how many children we can be licensed for.  Also they go through and ask a lot of questions  about our childhood, family and our relationship.  It was pretty interesting to have a stranger give us feed back on our strengths and how we can help children because of the experiences we both have had.

In other good news, we find out that everything has been approved for my surgery in AZ.  So I will have all the details on hopefully Monday!  So excited to have that all done with!
